Jim Eggleston is the founding partner of Eggleston King Davis, LLP, a transactional and business litigation boutique law firm with offices in Weatherford and Fort Worth, Texas and Sacramento, California. He is a farm and ranch lawyer with hundreds of rural land and agricultural transactions with an aggregate value in the hundreds of millions of dollars in Texas, California, South Dakota, Arkansas, and elsewhere.

Jim is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the American Agriculture Lawyers Association. Jim is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Farm and Ranch Rea Estate Law and Commercial Real Estate Law. Jim has been selected one of the “Texas Super Lawyers” in Real Estate for over 12 years by Thompson Reuters and appears in Texas Monthly Magazine in this annual list. He has received a peer review rating of “AV® Rated – Preeminent” by Martindale Hubbell.

Jim has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 1980 and is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He is a 1980 honors graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law and a 1977 honors graduate of Oklahoma Christian University. Jim anticipates graduating in December of 2025 with an LL.M. in Agriculture and Food Law from the University of Arkansas School of Law.

Jim is a frequent speaker on farm and ranch topics at continuing legal education courses for State Bar of Texas lawyers. He has held leadership roles within the State Bar of Texas Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law section and is a contributor to its quarterly “REPTL Reporter.” His practice is devoted to farm and ranch transactions, business transactions, farm and ranch financing, asset protection for agriculture operations, and farm and ranch generational transitions.

Jim is the founding partner of the LandWise Partners, LLC, an ag and land consulting alliance of experts involved in legal, financial, agronomic, natural resource, water, branding, conservation, policy, education, oil and gas, and other land and agricultural subject matter issues. LandWise Partners has a passion is serving ranching, farming, and other agriculture business sectors. Jim is also co-founding member of the 2050 Roundtable, a non-profit devoted to uniting professionals to develop solutions for the global agriculture and food challenges impacting and shaping our future.
